Privacy and digital freedom research.

Advice on how systems handle personal data.

InfinitX Labs aims to protect digital freedom and keep information accessible worldwide through privacy technology. It believes access to information is a human right. Its work is at an early stage.

Mission

We believe access to information is a human right.

We plan to study how to share data without exposing personal details. We also plan ways to measure when internet access is blocked or slowed on purpose.

We aim to build tools that keep data on your own device, so you stay in control.

Planned research

Areas we plan to research include:

  • Analyzing data without exposing personal details
  • Encrypted tools that keep data on your own device
  • Private internet access and ways around censorship
  • Open-source software
  • Secure communication for community groups

Consulting

  • Advice on how personal data moves through a system and how to limit unnecessary collection and sharing.
  • Enquiries can cover privacy requirements and early design reviews.
  • This is technical advice. We offer no legal advice or security certification.
  • We would agree the scope, sources, checks and limits in writing before work begins.

How we work

Open by design

We have not released code yet. We plan to release our code and analysis steps under open licences.

Research methods

We plan to state each research question, its sources and its limits.

Privacy

We favour tools that keep data on your own device where feasible.

Projects

Our first public software project is planned.
